The Amsterdam Music Hack Day is a full weekend of hacking in which participants will conceptualize, create and present their projects. Music + software + mobile + hardware + art + the web. Anything goes as long as it's music related.

About Music Hack Day

Music Hack Day has been a great way to demonstrate the creativity and innovation around music that comes from the tech community. The past three years have seen multiple Music Hack Day events take place. Starting in London, it has spread across the world to Berlin, Amsterdam, Boston, Stockholm, San Francisco, Barcelona, New York and Montreal. It’s been exciting to watch over 2000 participants taking part, building hundreds of hacks and with over 125 music and tech companies’ supporting the events.

Who will be hacking?

Are you a hacker? Or a musician? Block 24+25 March 2012 in your calendar, book a flight or train to Amsterdam and join MHD. Limited Capacity so be sure to register for your free ticket.

Amsterdam Music Hack Day will be held at NIMK, on the canals of Amsterdam:(Edit)

NiMK is the Nederlands Instituut voor Media Kunst, aka the Netherlands Media Art Institute, an international institution based in Amsterdam focusing on the presentation, research and collection of Media Art.

Previously known as MonteVideo, nowadays NIMk plays a role in exhibiting, disseminating and researching new technologies in media art. Its catalogue comprises more than 2000 works, ranging from installations, video performances, software-based and internet art, from recognised international artists.

Most probably NiMK will open up some of their APIs to hack upon and screen the hacker documentary 'Hippies from Hell' during the long saturdaynight.

NiMK is situated in the centre of Amsterdam, straight on the canals in the 'trendy' (← gotta love those tourist-guidebooks) '9 streets'-area.
